RECLAIMED

Reclaimed Material Story

Some materials have a history. Reclaimed materials have a life. Salvaged from centuries-old barns, farmhouses, and historic buildings across Europe, each piece carries the evidence of where it has been — marks that no new material can manufacture and no machine can replicate. These are not imperfections. They are records of life.

François & Co. sources reclaimed wood and stone by provenance, by hand, and by the same standard it applies to every material in its collection: the history of a piece is as important as its appearance.

A Second Life

Reclaimed French Oak is salvaged from centuries-old structures across the French countryside. Wide planks bear the natural patina, saw marks, wormholes, and weathered grain of their original life. Pre-finished with three coats of hard wax oil and available in Natural and Dark colorways across plank, herringbone, and chevron patterns.

Reclaimed Antique Limestone includes pavers and stone sourced from historic manors and farmhouses across France, some dating to the 13th century. Generations of wear have created uniquely uneven surfaces. Warm, lived-in, and impossible to replicate with newly quarried material.

Reclaimed Terra Cotta from historic European buildings where handmade tiles have been walked on for centuries. Each piece carries the color variation, surface texture, and irregular edges of the original firing — characteristics that give reclaimed terra cotta a warmth and depth that new production cannot achieve.
