Early 19th century Louis XVI mantel. This piece, originally carved in grey marble, was rescued from a dilapidated Paris townhouse. The reproduction has been impeccably executed with its "tablette en ressaut" (bas relief panel) featuring a carved oval sunflower in its center. The fluted and reeded halfmoon legs are surmounted by square carved paterae.
