Our stone fireplaces and range hoods can be either hand-carved in natural stone or hand-crafted in our trademark Scagliola Stone™. If you are interested in having your stone fireplace mantel hand-carved in limestone, we have a few different options.

  • The first option is to hand-carve your stone fireplace mantel in French limestone. Your stone fireplace would actually be hand-carved in France by master artisans. The detail and the quality of the carvings on these limestone fireplace mantels are very classic and accurate. This is the highest level of carving we can provide you for stone fireplaces.

  • The second option would be to carve your stone fireplace mantel in limestones quarried here in North America. Your stone fireplace in this case would be crafted by trained artisans here in our facility the US. The quality and finishing of these limestone fireplaces is also excellent, yet it will be a little more cost effective to create a stone fireplace mantel in this manner.

  • We also offer our trademark Scagliola Stone as another option in which to craft your stone fireplace mantel or range hood piece. This is a hand polished authentic formula developed in Italy back in the 1700's, which consists of crushed travertine, limestone or marble with natural pigments to make stone mantels, ranges hoods and other architectural accents.Such stone fireplaces have a texture undistinguishable from hand carved stone mantels and their quality is far beyond that of cast stone mantels. The precision and intricate details possible on these stone fireplace mantels are truly unique, thus enabling architects and designers to incorporate one-of-a-kind stone mantels in their design of interior spaces. Scagliola Stone can even recreate mirror images of real antique limestone fireplace mantels, including weathering and aging done over time.
